Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity for you to show how much you love your significant other. It can be mind boggling and incredibly expensive if you aren’t sure where to start as there are so many advertising campaigns notifying you of ideas left, right and centre. So in this post I share my suggestions WITHOUT advertising so you don’t feel even more bombarded. Take a read and see what you think.

Valentine's Day gift ideas for your loved one:

  1. A romantic getaway or a weekend trip. This is a great idea for a variety of reasons, you can use it as a way to add new experiences and zest into your relationship, to recreate special moments from when you first met, a way to escape your own place (even if its a staycation in your local area) or as part of an even grander grand gesture. It also doesn’t have to be expensive- perhaps its camping coziness somewhere near you where you cannot get phone calls or texts bothering you.

  2. A personalised piece of jewelry. It could be something that is part of a family tradition, something you want to start as a tradition or just because. Jewelry always goes down well because its definitely not what women need its what we often want. For some men they really love peacocking about their partner with their ring or necklace from their lady.

  3. A bouquet of flowers or a potted plant. Remembering your partner’s favourite flowers or helping them start a green thumb project shows that you listen and care, plus its super cute!

  4. A special piece of artwork or home decor. Again this is about listening, perhaps you know that he or she wants a certain piece of decor for the house but they haven’t bought it yet because well.. adulting..Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to get it for them.

  5. A couples' spa day or massage. So perfect for any couple, being side by side mostly nude and not being able to touch each other either- pretty darn hot.

  6. A cooking or baking class. A great way to stop thinking of that A to B meal (eg: we must have chicken so I cooked this) and instead make something that takes some more effort and teaches you both something.

  7. A romantic dinner or wine-tasting experience. You can do this as a DIY around your local community or bring it to your local park with your own tasting board of beverages and tapas. Cute as!

  8. A unique and thoughtful book. Books tell us a lot about your loved one, when you gift a book that helps your special someone overcome something (like a mindset hurdle or teach them something they’ve been meaning to learn about) or enjoy their favourite genre you’ll hit the spot! You can even choose to read part of it to them in a cute outfit you know they’ll adore. *wink wink

  9. A special piece of technology, like a new camera or tablet. This may have been a bucket list item they’ve always wanted or something that genuinely makes their life better.

  10. A concert, play, or show tickets. Who doesn’t love an experience that is relaxed, fun and leaves you with great memories? This is a great option for making memories and one that is super popular post covid as we now tend to have a greater appreciation for experiences and not things.

Ultimately there are so many ideas. You can spend nothing, a little or literally thousands but the key is that hte amount of money doesn’t matter so much but rather why you chose to get that thing for someone else. After all nothing kills the mood like finding out your partner bought you a particular gift because it was on a recommended list..so make it personal to you to.

Any suggestions? Pop them in the comments!
